What is a typical citation count?
Choose a parent field to compare only its subfields. Subfields are grouped under their parent field in the Science-Metrix taxonomy.
Log scale. The ranges cover researchers in the selected list, who were selected by composite score (c), not by citations alone. They show what is usual among listed researchers in a field, not across everyone who publishes in it. Hover over a row to see all five values, or read them in the table below.

How to interpret these measures
The primary subfield is the plurality Science-Metrix category of an author's papers. “Inclusion changes in runner-up subfield” means the record is included through the subfield 2% route, and both c and c (ns) are below the lowest admitted scores through that route in the second subfield. “ns” excludes self-citations. A lower subfield percentile indicates a position nearer the top of that citation list.
The number of 2% entrants equals floor(2% × worldwide authors) in every subfield in the local audit. The files contain selected records; an absent name does not measure the contribution or value of a researcher's work. Cross-release links use names and first publication years, including unique surname-and-initial matches; individual identities need confirmation against source records.
